Portrait of Stephan Lache

About

A Palatinate native running networks.

I am Stephan Lache, and my job is keeping enterprise networks running — reliably and securely. Whatever I introduce, I build it in the lab first: better to break something there than in production.

What I do

Operating and developing enterprise network infrastructure — from routing and switching through firewalling to secure remote access.

How I work

Understand first, change second. New designs get tested in a lab before they go into production. I love EVE-NG ;-)

Where I am

The Rhine-Main region, Germany. Reachable via LinkedIn.

Personal

I grew up in the Palatinate and have called the Rhine-Main region home for more than twenty years.

Professional

Network administrator at DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG

Part of the team responsible for the network infrastructure, including routing, switching and network security.

After my apprenticeship at Deutsche Telekom I discovered my passion for IT, and for close to 15 years I have specialised in everything around networks — switching, routing, firewalling.

Network virtualisation (Azure) and AI are a soft spot of mine as well; I enjoy working with Claude.
